Magnetic Island Campervans & Motorhomes
Magnetic Island doesn’t allow campervans and motorhomes to come to the island as there are no caravan parks located here. There is however a campsite within the Bungalow Bay Resort where you can simply pitch a tent for as long as you wish. It is the only place on the entire island where you can set up camp.
Magnetic Island is easily accessible via Townsville in far north Queensland by either fast cat or by ferry if you have your own means of transportation. Cars and 4WD’s are allowed to access the island at anytime but if you are travelling in a motorhome or with a campervan attached for your next holiday, then you will have to look at staying within Townsville and visiting Magnetic Island by ferry.
Being a World Heritage Listed Island people have tried to keep the pristine wilderness as it was many years ago. Even though there are no caravan parks for you can still take a look at the many other options for accommodation, such as villas, hotel, resorts and holiday homes.
Many people choose to set up camp in Townsville and have Magnetic Island right on their doorstep! With the advantages of the cities sights and delights all within easy reach as well as being able to board a fast cat every day to the island you can have the best of both worlds.
